Could it be a powered socket to feed power to a masthead pre-amp?

I'm surprised it has taken so loooooong for the penny to drop.....

Its a loop through facility to allow Basestation to show the Planeplotter network , allowing worldwide coverage and full multilateration

Clue, it comes with a new version of lovely Basestation - specially for this purpose ':D'
